I am very sorry to note that neither the industry nor the market research, banking, media professionals understand the route cause behind these crises!

When these guys can understand how car industry is shifting from petrol versions to diesel versions due to mileage and fuel costs, why cant's they understand about a farmer who has been using tractors running on diesel.

This is our fundamental urban psychic problem! We understand urban well and less understand rural! For many years, what innovation tractor manufacturers made in launching alternate fuel versions of tractors...Look at Mahindra itself, they have now cars running on carbon fuels and electricity(Reva) which are meant for urban guys!

What is Anand Mahindra doing when it comes to farmers? This is a very simple common sense which we need to apply and often fail in the trap of B-School Thinking

I bet if anybody launches electric tractors and also goes beyond to launch electric charging stations(like China has been doing) we can see a great progress.

Not just this see what tractor guys say about their products since most of the farmers are illiterate-"
JOHN DEERE and I tried reading THE ECONOMICS OF TRACTORS IN SOUTH ASIA and believe it is very hard to know about how much is the mileage of a tractor!!!!!!!!! These guys still talk using age old phrases like "I f the o p p o r t u n i t y cost of labor (measured ei ther by wage rates or by man/ l and ratios) and the cost of ma i n t a i n i n g bullocks become sufficiently h i g h , it will make sense to shift to tractors"...I think then we must walk/use bicycle as it does not make any more sense to use mode of transport using oil as fuel since it does not make any economic sense, which is very impractical as we expect speed in every sphere of of our life and it is for this reason we should now urgently shift our oil economy gear to electric economy and start building the whole infrastructure to support that as no-body can monopolize like OPEC/USA!

After lots of hard-work in searching on the net, I could not find how much diesel a tractor consumes Mahindra launches fuel-efficient tractor Yuvraj 215 in Gujarat at Rs 1.75 lakh and also read what kind of tamasha these guys do at Mahindra Tractors rocks the farmland of UP and these  are classic example of exploitation economics!

Look at simple economics, when a metro rail transport based on electricity as fuel can ensure 1/5th of road transport, which is based on oil as fuel, cant' we expect such savings in a tractor! Lame excuses what these can talk is where is the electricity in India? and why can't they take this problem as an opportunity in setting up battery charging stations like we have been witnessing in China!

Hope we understand politics in oil economy and do something!
